Wokai is Closing Down

Wokai, which funded microloans in China, is closing down. According to the announcement Wokai did not succeed in finding a new CEO. Read earlier articles on Wokai’s launch in 2008.

  1. so, what is happening with all the money invested there already? I invested via Qifang.com for small loans to students in China; Qifang.com shut down and I never heard what they have done with my money….
    never invest in China.

    • As Wokai was about donations (no repayments!) that should not be a concern. The announcement says that the local mircofinance partners will continue financing loans.
